Responsibilities:
The applicant will   collaborate on creative projects focused on the modelling of airflow in a wind tunnel and climate research and synergistic effects of flow, temperature, solar radiation and humidity on the building, mainly historical, design and materials. The activity includes a systematic study of problems of flow, aerodynamic structures, dynamics and numerical modelling and physical conditions leading to damage to structures and materials. 

Post-doctoral spectral X-ray radiography and X-ray CT algorithm scientist

Job description: Developing of spectral radiography methods (study of the object structure and its material composition). Developing specialized algorithms for Computed Tomography and their Implementation as well as evaluation with real samples. Generally, developing of innovative solutions for material sciences, experimental mechanics and cultural heritage problems.

The candidate must: Be able to implement new algorithms in Matlab, Python, C++ , Java or other programming languages; acquisition of real data for algorithm testing; testing of algorithms on real data; and adaptation of algorithms to work on user friendly basis.

Effectively communicate results by preparing written reports and making presentations describing analyses performed, solutions developed, and value obtained.

Requirements: Doctorate degree in electrical engineering, computer science, nuclear sciences or related field.

Familiarity with C, C++ and Matlab andidate must be willing to work in Telc. International experimental works are expected.

Post-doctoral neutron imaging scientist

Job description: Developing of neutron imaging and analytical methods using newest neutron semiconductor detection devices. Study of the material structure based on neutron transmission imaging. Study of the material composition using gamma rays analysis. Developing of the fast and thermal neutron detection devices. Generally, developing of innovative solutions for material sciences and cultural heritage problems.

The candidate must: Implement new algorithms in Matlab, Python, C++ , Java or other programming languages; acquisition and processing of real data for newly developed methods.

Effectively communicate results by preparing written reports and making presentations describing analyses performed, solutions developed, and value obtained.

Requirements: Doctorate degree in electrical engineering, computer science, nuclear sciences or related field.

Operator and the person supervising workplace computer tomography and neutron radiography

Pracovní náplň: Samostatné činnosti související s rutiním měřením na pracovišti počítačové tomografie. Práce zahrnuje základní nastavení a kalibrace aparatury, záznam tomografických dat a jejich zpracování a vizualizace programy s uživatelským rozhranním. Vedení měřících protokolů, zpracování výzkumným zpráv. Požadavky: Požadujeme vysokoškolské vzdělání (magisterské nebo ekvivalentní) v relevantním technickém nebo přírodovědném oboru. Nutná alespoň jednoletá předchozí praxe se zdroji ionizoujícího záření. Vítaná zkouška zvláštní odborné způsobilosti pro nakládánmí se zdroji ionizujícího záření, či je nutné úspěšné absolvování této zkoušky v nejbližším možném termínu, viz. www.sujb.cz . Research worker of applied physical methods

Job description: work includes application and development of experimental methods for investigation of physical properties and behaviour of materials, mainly those used in historical structures, and also beneficiate other research projects of the institute by using these methods.

The candidate must: be familiar with nature and character of the fundamental properties determining mechanical and physical behavior of the materials, be able independently or with a partial guidance to design and to build new experimental methods and procedures, be familiar with key classes of materials and their characteristic properties. He/she should also be experienced in experimental determination of the above mentioned properties, in processing and evaluation of measured data, be able to summarize results, in the context of task to interpret the studied property in the report, eventually publication.

Requirements: We require a university degree (Masters or equivalent) in a relevant technical or scientific field. Previous experience in any of the following disciplines is welcome: thermal expansion, porosity measurement, thermography, nanoindentation, surface roughness determination. Good English and willingness to learn new things are crucial as well.

Specialist for mortar preparation techniques and laboratory accelerated aging

Job description: Responsibilities include the preparation of composite samples of treatment, physical examinations of fresh and hardened mortars and concretes, handling of samples in climatic chambers. The worker must master the basic acquisition of documentation photography, text and spreadsheets.

Physical Chemistry Laboratory research worker

Job description: includes the study and measurement of bulk density, moisture and thermal expansion, porosity, water absorption, moisture content (Hg porozimetru operation, gas adsorption and gas pycnometer, water accessible porosity test / hydrostatic weighing samples after soaking with water under reduced pressure /, test content humidity), water transport through porous material (capillary water absorption of the material absorption / rate of rise of water to soak the material in the sample from the bottom of regular size, rate of water rise into the material through tubes or capillaries, the rate of drying of water at different conditions), measurement of diffusion coefficient of water vapor (water vapor permeability), measurement of water adsorption - adsorption isotherms, control modes climatic chambers to simulate various temperature-humidity conditions. Statistical evaluation of results, search for comparative data in the literature and standards.

Requirements: We require a university degree (Masters or equivalent) in a relevant technical or scientific field.
