CET - Centre of Excellence Telč is a project of the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the Academy of Science of the Czech Republic, which is being implemented with financial support from the European Union and the Czech Republic through the structural funds and the state budget allocated to the Operational Programme Research and Development for the period 2007 – 2013.
The CET project was primarily intended to contribute to the development of Czech and European science by building a European centre of excellence as an advanced research centre with a unique research program and international reputation, especially in the field of cultural heritage. The project helps to develop basic and applied research of excellent quality in the Vysočina region and in the of Telč. The purpose is to involve activities undertaken in the region into the European Research Area, and also to open them to the world. We want to create favourable conditions for cooperation with other research institutions and higher education institutions at home and abroad, through setting up joint teams and by bringing in external collaborators for our projects. Cooperation with the private sector is a further aim of the project.
CET is founded on and further develops research activities supported by the European Commission within the ARCCHIP Centre of Excellence.
